Website Content and SEO Relation

Recently I have recieved a number of e-mails asking the relation between SEO (search engine optimisation) and the website content, in terms of the website text.

These 2 work in parallel to each other and need to complement each other in order to get satisfactory search engine marketing success. Its what people are looking for that you should write about your website and not what 'you think' or even better what 'you wish' that web users are looking for!

Designing a Better Website – (Part 1)

When it comes to web design most of us would think of the visual side, or better, the looks for your website, but there is a lot more to discover and to take good care of then just having a good looking website. Remember we need to develop websites for customers to use and buy from.

Navigation
Simple yet effective navigation, a lot of designers develop complex flash animations and buttons and when a customer is confronted with such a site would not enjoy the experience for various reasons including slow speed, not easy to follow, distracting animations and misleading moving objects within the website. Its not easy for a designer to tset his work so ask for judgment about your work from people around you and see if they manage to get through the site and leave with the wow factor!

Meta Elements
How many websites exist without even a single line of code in their meta elements, this is awful cause a considerable chunk of your online success depends on the page titles, descriptions and keywords in order for search engines to understand what your website is about and give you page ranks and positioning in the free results pages.

HTML
Clean html avoiding unnecessary use of Javascripts and looping code. Proper use of headings indicating the content headers, alt tags, paragraphing and multiple browser optimisation increases the chances of a better experience to a wider range of visitors to your website.
